Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has ordered to remove PTI’s central secretary information Rauf Hassan’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The court declared the order to include Rauf Hassan’s name in the ECL as illegal and motivated by bad faith.
Justice Inam Mian Munhas approved the request to remove Rauf Hassan’s name from the ECL and directed him to approach the trial court for permission to travel abroad.
The court remarked that, the trial court should expedite its decision on Rauf Hassan’s application according to the law. According to his lawyer, Rauf Hassan is a cancer survivor and needs to travel to the UK for check-ups.
In the court order, it was stated, that the lawyer argued that the petitioner has an FIR against him, for which he is on bail, and that including someone’s name in the ECL solely because a case has been registered is unjustified.
Subsequently, the Islamabad High Court ordered the removal of Rauf Hassan’s name from the ECL.
