ISPR urges India to recognize Pakistan’s significance, pursue peaceful coexistence

RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has emphasized that India must come to terms with Pakistan’s importance and adopt a peaceful approach to coexistence. Responding to recent remarks made by the Indian Chief of Army Staff during an interview, ISPR pointed out that Indian leadership continues to struggle with accepting the very existence of Pakistan, despite eight decades having passed.

In its statement, ISPR criticized India’s aggressive rhetoric, describing it as rooted in arrogance, nationalism, and shortsightedness, which have historically driven South Asia toward conflict and instability. The organization condemned India’s threats to erase Pakistan from the map, stating that such threats are not strategic gestures but reflect a dangerous lack of understanding, recklessness, and hostility. They warned that such an approach disregards the reality that mutual destruction would be inevitable in any such conflict.

ISPR highlighted that responsible nuclear-armed nations demonstrate restraint, maturity, and strategic calmness, and do not indulge in rhetoric of supremacy or territorial obliteration. It further asserted that, despite India’s hostile narratives and Hindutva-driven policies, Pakistan remains an influential country on the global stage, a recognized nuclear power, and an integral part of South Asia’s geography and history.

The statement also pointed out that India’s aggressive posture is driven more by frustration and an inability to harm Pakistan effectively, as evidenced during recent confrontations like Marka-e-Haq. It warned Indian leaders against provoking another regional crisis or war, warning that the consequences would be devastating not just for the region but beyond.

Finally, ISPR called on India to acknowledge Pakistan’s significance and to learn to coexist peacefully. It warned that any attempts to target Pakistan could lead to consequences that are not confined to geographical boundaries or easily managed politically, emphasizing the importance of restraint and diplomacy.
