Israeli strikes hit Gaza’s Nasser Hospital, resulting in journalist fatality

GAZA: Israeli forces bombed the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, Gaza, resulting in the death of journalist Hassan Eslaih and raising concerns over civilian casualties.

The attack comes a day after Israeli strikes across the Strip killed at least 39 people, highlighting the devastating toll on Gaza’s population.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urgently called for an end to Israel’s blockade of Gaza, warning that the entire enclave faces the imminent risk of famine, as a leading global hunger monitor reports critical shortages threatening millions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced plans to send mediators to Qatar for potential truce talks following the release of a US-Israeli soldier by Hamas. His office indicated that Israel would delay expanding its military operations in Gaza until after U.S. President Donald Trump’s upcoming Middle East visit.

The human toll continues to mount, with Gaza’s Health Ministry reporting at least 52,862 Palestinians killed and 119,648 wounded since the conflict’s escalation. The Government Media Office updated the death toll to over 61,700, citing thousands missing under rubble presumed dead.

As international calls for de-escalation grow, the humanitarian crisis deepens, prompting urgent appeals for ceasefire negotiations and increased aid access to Gaza.
