ISLAMABAD: Justice Munib Akhtar took oath as the acting Chief Justice of Pakistan on Thursday at a ceremony held at the Supreme Court.
Supreme Court Justice Jamal Mandokhel administered the oath to Justice Munib Akhtar in the presence of fellow judges and law officers.
Justice Munib will perform the duties of the chief justice during the absence of incumbent CJP Justice Yahya Afridi, who is currently visiting the United Kingdom.
Justice Yahya Afridi is scheduled to return to Pakistan on October 21.
