Lahore: The High Court has ordered the registration of all schools to be done again after one month.
Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the smog remediation case.
During the hearing, Justice Shahid Karim remarked that the issue of school buses is very important, take it seriously, the private school owners are earning a lot of money but they are not doing anything, we have to get this done by the school department before the next season. Give a permanent solution to what SOPs have to do.
The court said, there is a need to conduct a survey of the roads, the traffic situation is very bad, under whose jurisdiction Aitchison is called buses, some schools are renewed after one year and some after two years, this is not correct. The registration of those who do not follow the school bus policy should be suspended.
Secretary School Education argued that the policy has to be known from our side, it has to be implemented by the DEO, it is under the jurisdiction of Higher Education.
Justice Shahid Karim remarked that take higher education in the loop, tell your policy and I will implement it.
The court ordered the re-registration of all the schools after a month, formed a committee and called for a traffic plan in Lahore, and also directed the school education department to present the rules at the next hearing.
The court adjourned further hearing on the case till after the winter vacation.
