WEB DESK: Microsoft has officially confirmed a bug affecting Windows 11, likely introduced with the recent Patch. The company is actively working on a solution.
As reported by Neowin, the issue pertains to the Recycle Bin, where the confirmation prompt for deleting files now displays the internal filename instead of the actual filename. Although this bug isn’t critical, it can lead to confusion for users.
The correct filename still appears within the Recycle Bin and is used when restoring files, but the confirmation dialog shows only the internal, system-generated name. Microsoft has acknowledged the problem and is developing a fix, though no timeline has been given yet.
This bug is among several issues caused by the latest update, including problems with OneDrive access. The update has stirred frustration among users, especially on Reddit, where many have shared their displeasure with Microsoft’s handling of the situation. Some users even speculate that artificial intelligence may have inadvertently contributed to the faulty code, though nothing has been confirmed.
One Reddit user expressed their frustration, saying, “This update broke me; I’m so fed up with Windows 11 and all its bugs that I’m switching to Linux.” Another added, “Goodbye, Microslop!” The thread is filled with reports of various other glitches and problems introduced by recent Windows updates.
Despite these setbacks, Microsoft has made notable strides with major upgrades in recent months, suggesting that the company continues to work towards more stable releases.
