MQM-P not to allow democracy to derail: Khalid Maqbool

KARACHI: MQM-P convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddique has said they will help the government and his party will not let the democracy derail.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, speaking in a special broadcast of a private media channel regarding the general elections, said that those reforms must be brought in the Pakistani constitution which will protect 20.3 million people and not 23 political families.

He said that there is a crisis of intentions in Pakistan, not economic, there is a lack of confidence in the country, not commercial, Pakistan does not need that democracy whose fruits do not reach the common man. He said that he will help in forming the government, his party will not let democracy derail. It should be noted that after the polling in the general elections in the country, the results are coming

According to the incomplete and unofficial results of the general elections 2024, PTI-backed independent candidates are leading in the National Assembly with 95 seats, while the (N) League has won 67 seats and the People’s Party has won 52 seats so far.

Apart from this, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan has won 15 seats, Muslim League (Q) 2 seats, Istehkam Pakistan Party and Jamiat Ulema Islam have won 2 and 2 seats respectively, Balochistan Awami Party have not won any seats in the National Assembly.
