Pakistan Navy showcases indigenous Anti-Ship missile strength

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted a live firing of a locally developed ship-launched anti-ship missile, showcasing its growing precision-strike capability and operational readiness, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In an official statement, ISPR confirmed that the missile accurately hit its target at extended range while traveling at high speed. The test highlighted the Navy’s advanced targeting accuracy and its preparedness to respond to evolving maritime challenges.

The launch was witnessed by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, along with senior scientists and engineers involved in the project.

According to ISPR, the missile features a modern guidance system and enhanced manoeuvrability, enabling it to evade defensive systems, adapt mid-flight, and strike targets with precision. The successful test reflects a strong integration of indigenous technology and operational expertise.

Top leadership, including Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, congratulated the armed forces, scientists, and engineers on achieving this milestone.

The development is part of a series of recent advancements in Pakistan’s defense capabilities. Earlier this year, the Navy successfully tested a surface-to-air missile during exercises in the North Arabian Sea, while the Pakistan Air Force carried out a flight test of the indigenously developed Taimoor Weapon System, capable of targeting land and sea objectives at a range of up to 600 kilometers.

The latest test underscores Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening maritime security and maintaining a credible sea-based deterrence in the region.
