ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended heartfelt thanks to overseas Pakistanis for sending record remittances of $4.1 billion in March, marking the highest-ever monthly inflow in the country’s history.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, this figure represents a 37.4% increase compared to March of the previous year.
So far, during the first nine months of the current fiscal year, Pakistan has received a total of $28.1 billion in remittances, reflecting a significant 33% rise.
Commenting on this achievement, the Prime Minister highlighted that the record-breaking remittance figures are a strong testament to the dedication, trust, and confidence of overseas Pakistanis in Pakistan’s economy and government policies.
He praised overseas Pakistanis as one of the country’s most valuable assets, emphasizing their tireless efforts abroad, not only as ambassadors of national pride but also as vital contributors to Pakistan’s economic strength.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment, Shehbaz Sharif assured that all possible facilities will be provided to overseas Pakistanis in recognition of their unwavering support and contributions.
