RIYADH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left Riyadh for Baku, Azerbaijan, after attending the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit.
At the International Royal Terminal in Riyadh, the Prime Minister was bid farewell by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, H.E. Ahmed Farooq, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, H.E. Naufal Saeed Al-Maliki, and other diplomatic staff.
During his three-day visit to Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister will attend the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP-29) Climate Action Summit in Baku.
In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will represent Pakistan at Climate Finance Roundtable Conference, bringing together multiple world leaders and experts to discuss financial strategies to support climate action in developing countries.
The Prime Minister will also attend the “Glaciers 2025: Actions for Glaciers“ high-level event organized by the President of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, focusing on glacier preservation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will participate in the high-level event “Delivering Early Warning for All and Addressing Extreme Heat,” organized by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, to discuss the growing global threat of rising temperatures and the need for early warning systems.
