PM Shehbaz calls to increase the number of institutions for nursing training

ISLAMBAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that the skilled workforce is Pakistan’s real asset and has directed an increase in the number of institutions for nursing training in the country.

A inter-ministerial review meeting on professional training for youth was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, where a three-year plan was presented regarding the professional training of the workforce and employment opportunities abroad.

Prime Minister stated that, equipping youth with the professional skills required on an international level is a priority. Measures should be taken to align nursing training with international standards.

He also directed that, training of youth should take into account the needs of the industry and market. He mentioned that all funds should be provided to New Tech for the vocational training of youth. New Tech should blacklist training institutions that show poor performance. Additionally, institutions that perform well should be encouraged.

It is also mentioned in the briefing, New Tech has provided professional training to 60,000 youths so far this year. The target is to train 250,000 individuals by 2026 and 337,000 individuals by 2027. More than 29,000 individuals who received training from New Tech have secured employment in Saudi Arabia.
