DADU: At least seven people were killed in an armed confrontation between two rival groups over an old dispute in Dadu district on Sunday, police said.
The clash erupted in Danu Chandio village, where members of the two groups exchanged gunfire, leaving several people dead from both sides.
Police said the bodies of the victims were transported to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities and post-mortem examinations.
Following the incident, additional police personnel were deployed in the area to prevent further violence and restore calm.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the deadly clash and sought a detailed report from Inspector General of Police Sindh.
The chief minister directed law enforcement agencies to arrest those responsible without delay and ensure that action is taken against all suspects without discrimination.
Expressing sorrow over the loss of lives, Murad Ali Shah extended condolences to the bereaved families and stressed that no individual would be permitted to take the law into their own hands.
He also instructed the provincial police chief to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
Authorities have been directed to closely monitor the situation in the village and take measures to prevent the longstanding feud from triggering further violence.
