WEB DESK: US President Donald Trump should remember that there is an agreement that is respected by both sides, which is the only way to return prisoners, said Hamas leader Sami Abu Zahri
In a statement, Abu Zahri stressed, “Threats have no status, it makes matters more complicated.”
Hamas’s reaction came in response to the latest warning of the US president, in which Donald Trump said that “according to the ceasefire agreement, if Israeli prisoners were not released on Saturday, they would open the gates of hell”.
Hamas has postponed the release of the prisoners, accusing Israel of violating the clauses of the deal.
In his threat, Trump made it clear that if all the hostages were not returned from Gaza until 12 noon next week, they would demand the cancellation of the ceasefire agreement.
Similarly, Trump also indicated that if Egypt and Jordan did not welcome Gaza’s refugees, they could withhold aid from the two countries.
