Lahore: Yom-e-Tashakur commenced across Punjab with a 21 gun salute in Lahore while Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz started the day with the flag hoisting ceremony at the cheif minister house.
Ministers, advisors, special assistants, high government officials were attended the ceremony.
The smartly tuned batallion of Punjab police presented a salute while the national anthem was presented in the ceremony.
Martyres were paid homage and special prayers were sought for them.

Maryam Nawaz said that Pakistan Airforce brave eagles crushed Indian arrogance into the dust.
She said that the success of the Operation Bunayanun Marsoos is the result of fearless leadership, valiant Pakistan army, unwavering unity of the nation.
The CM said that we are the peace loving nation but we will respond aggression befittingly.
Floral wreath were laid the masuleums of the martyrs, green crescent flags were hoisted at government and private buildings.
Special rallies were brought out to pay homage to Pakistan armed forces.
Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Hyder Khan and Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Fayyaz Hussain Shah paid visit to the poet of east Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal mausoleum.
At the occasion, special prayers were sought for the country’s security and stability.
