Karachi: Jamat-e-Islami Karachi Chief Munam Zafar Khan has said that any commercial activities in the government parks and play grounds are not allowed under the court orders.

The JI Karachi Chief in his presser along with residents around Umar Sharif park in Clifton Block 2 said that opening of the Umar Sharif park is the responsibility of mayor Karachi.
Munam Zafar Khan said that on the backing of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) led provincial government and Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab the government parks and play grounds are being occupied on the name of public private partnership.
He said that many a time residents of area protested against the change of status of the Umar Sharif Park.
He said that it is unfortunate that the Muttahida Quami Movement -Pakistan (MQM-P) and PPP didn’t own the city.
No commercial activities can be happened in the government parks and play ground as per the court orders, he reminded.
He explained that occupation of the Umar Sharif park is being given name of Public-Private partnership.
He said that JI Chief Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman has been pursuing case of Karachi residents.
The area residents apprised the JI Karachi Chief that they are also deprived of water along with occupation of the park.
The JI chief along with the residents visited the Umar Sharif Park.
Opposition leader in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and deputy chief Karachi Saif Uddin advocate, another deputy chief Naveed Ali Baig, District South chief Sufiyan Dilawar, secretary information Zahid Akari and other were also accompained with Karachi JI chief.
