LAHORE: Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman is presenting the province’s Rs5,335 billion budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.
Prior to the assembly session, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz led provincial cabinet approved the provincial budget.
Opposition parties led by the majority party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf member of provincial assembly (MPAs) are contineously protesting while they also surrounded the speaker Muhammad Ahmed Khan rostrum.
Provincial Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman presented annual Punjab budget for fiscal year 2025-26 with a total outlay of Rs 5335 billion.
The minister said that the new budget is people-friendly encompassing all sectors and stakeholders, while no new taxes are imposed for the next financial year.
