LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially launched the second phase of the Chief Minister’s Internship Program, providing a major boost to both youth employment and the province’s agriculture sector.
Under this initiative, 2,000 agriculture graduates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000. The program is open to students pursuing BSc Agriculture and BSc (Hons) Agricultural Engineering. Eligible candidates can submit their applications to the office of the deputy director of agriculture in their respective districts.
District-wise quotas have been allocated to ensure fair representation, and an agricultural helpline has been activated to assist applicants throughout the process.
In a statement, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the internship program not only strengthens support for farmers but also creates valuable employment opportunities for the youth. “This program is a bridge between modern agricultural practices and youth empowerment,” she said.
She also highlighted the continued success of the Kisan Card Program, which has become a landmark achievement in facilitating financial inclusion for farmers across Punjab. In addition, the provincial government is actively implementing other farmer-focused schemes, including the Green Tractor Scheme and Tube Well Solarization Program.
To further modernize agricultural services, CM Maryam also announced the upcoming launch of Model Agriculture Malls, which will provide farmers with access to a wide range of facilities and resources under one roof.
