Islamabad: Pakistan’s security forces have eliminated 34 terrorists linked to the Indian-backed extremist group “Khawarij” during operations conducted across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the military’s media wing ISPR.
Between October 13 and 15, intelligence-based operations were carried out in various parts of the region. In the Spin Wam area of North Waziristan, an intense firefight resulted in the death of 18 members of Khawarij.
Similarly, a separate operation in South Waziristan led to eight extremists being neutralized, while another mission in Bannu resulted in the elimination of eight more terrorists.
ISPR highlighted that these operations are part of Operation Azm-e-Istihkam, aimed at dismantling terrorist networks receiving foreign (Indian) support through targeted, intelligence-driven actions. Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain dedicated to eradicating all forms of foreign-backed terrorism in the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the success of these operations, commending the professionalism of the security forces in thwarting terrorist plots. He reaffirmed his resolve to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and ensure the security of its citizens.
The prime minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to continuing the counter-terrorism campaign until the complete elimination of terrorism in Pakistan.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also acknowledged the efforts of the security forces, applauding their achievement in killing 34 extremists during recent operations.
