LAHORE: Salman Ali Agha from Pakistan has gained prominent attention in the latest ICC ODI player rankings after scoring a century in the first ODI against Sri Lanka.
Several Pakistani players have seen a boost in their rankings, showcasing strong performances in recent matches.
According to the ICC’s latest update, Salman Agha has climbed 14 positions to secure the 16th spot among ODI batsmen, thanks to his impressive 105-run knock against Sri Lanka. Additionally, he has risen seven places to claim the 11th spot on the all-rounders’ list, underlining his growing influence within the team.
Other noteworthy advancements in batting rankings include Saim Ayub, who surged 18 spots to 35th, Mohammad Rizwan, who moved up four places to 27th, and Fakhar Zaman, who jumped five slots to 31st.
On the other hand, Babar Azam has dropped slightly, losing two ranks but still remaining among the top batsmen globally at number 7.
In bowling, no Pakistani player is currently positioned among the top 15. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continues to hold the top rank. Shaheen Afridi remains Pakistan’s highest-ranked bowler at 16th, while spinner Abrar Ahmed rose by 18 places to reach 20th. Haris Rauf also showed improvement, climbing two spots to sit at 29th as Pakistan’s pace attack continues to gain traction.
