Nationwide anti-rubella/measles vaccination drive begins

KARACHI: Pakistani health authorities have initiated a nationwide campaign to vaccinate over 57 million children this month against rubella, measles, and polio, as reported by the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC).

The campaign aims to vaccinate over 34 million children aged six months to five years against measles and rubella.

In addition, a week-long polio vaccination drive has commenced in 90 high-risk districts across the country, with plans to administer anti-polio drops to over 23 million children.

Vaccination teams will carry out door-to-door visits to ensure coverage, while vaccines will also be available at government health facilities, schools, madrassas, and temporary vaccination centers.

The NEOC has called upon parents to ensure their children receive these vaccines to safeguard them from these highly contagious diseases.
