KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a steep drop on Thursday, with the per tola rate decreasing by Rs5,000 in the local market.
As reported by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold fell to Rs426,562 per tola following the latest reduction. Likewise, the rate for 10 grams of gold declined by Rs4,286, settling at Rs365,708.
On the global stage, gold prices experienced a similar trend, tumbling by $50 to reach $4,042 per ounce.
This decline comes shortly after a sharp rise in gold prices just a day earlier, when they surged by Rs7,900 per tola, reflecting significant volatility in the bullion market.
