ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar remarked on Thursday that India has established itself as the leading global promoter of terrorism.
He stated that concrete evidence concerning the recent terrorist attack in Australia has surfaced, including the attackers’ passports and statements from Indian police. He further highlighted incidents such as the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada and actions against Sikhs in the United States as part of this narrative.
According to Tarar, terrorism in regions like Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is directly fueled by Indian involvement.
He expressed deep regret that a nation sponsoring acts of terrorism has the audacity to accuse Pakistan—a country that has itself been a continual victim of such atrocities.
He criticized the baseless accusations leveled against Pakistan, emphasizing that these were made without any thorough investigation or evidence.
The minister also demanded that international media issue a formal apology for unfairly blaming Pakistan.
He specifically pointed out Al Jazeera for aligning with Indian and Israeli media on this matter, urging international outlets to acknowledge their error and make amends.
Touching on domestic concerns, Tarar affirmed that a regulatory framework for social media is already operational. He assured that stringent action would soon be taken against YouTubers allegedly engaged in anti-Pakistan propaganda campaigns.
