KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan have risen for the fifth consecutive day, with both gold and silver reaching record highs in global and local markets.
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) reported that the price of 24-karat gold surged by Rs500 per tola on Friday, hitting Rs473,362. This increase aligns with the upward movement in global rates, driven by consistent investor demand.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold climbed by Rs429, reaching Rs405,831. Meanwhile, 22-karat gold prices for 10 grams rose by Rs393, settling at Rs372,025.
Globally, gold prices saw a $5 per ounce increase, reaching $4,510 per ounce. This growth underlines the persistent global appeal of precious metals amidst economic uncertainties and fluctuating currency trends.
Silver mirrored this upward trend, with the price of 24-karat silver rising by Rs240 per tola to Rs7,945. Additionally, 10 grams of 24-karat silver rose by Rs206 to stand at Rs6,811.
