MANDI BAHAUDDIN: A young man from Pakistan’s Mandi Bahauddin has found love online, prompting a German doctor to journey across continents to marry him. Muhammad Akmal, 22, from the village of Daffar, revealed that he connected with Dr. Selma, a 26-year-old medical practitioner from Germany, through the popular online game Roblox.
Dr. Selma holds dual nationality German and Bosnian and has expressed her desire to settle permanently in Pakistan with Muhammad Akmal.
In a recent interview on a digital platform, Akmal shared that their relationship began through conversations while playing Roblox. “We stayed in touch for around five months, and eventually, Selma decided to come to Pakistan to marry me,” he explained.
He recounted that he proposed to her on their very first day of talking. Initially, Selma was hesitant about traveling to Pakistan, but her feelings grew stronger, and she agreed to visit. Akmal added that his family was supportive of their union, with no objections raised.
He also mentioned that approximately 3.7 million rupees were spent on her travel and the wedding arrangements. Sharing her experience of village life, Dr. Selma said, “When I arrived in Pakistan and saw the village lifestyle and daily routines, I was initially taken aback. But now, I feel happy to be with my husband.” She described her first encounters with chores like washing dishes, laundry, and baking bread as challenging but rewarding as she learned new skills.
Selma is also currently working on improving her Urdu and Punjabi language skills to better communicate with her husband’s family.
Their story has touched many and has gone viral on social media, with users praising their genuine love, simplicity, and the power of online connections bringing two hearts together across borders.
