The medical team that examined the eyes of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at the Adiala Jail on Sunday has expressed satisfaction with the treatment.
According to sources, the medical team expressed satisfaction with the treatment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s right eye. Doctors have indicated improvement in the eye condition as a result of the treatment and said there is a possibility of full recovery.
A team of specialist doctors conducted a medical examination of the PTI founder at Adiala Jail for approximately one hour. The doctors will complete their report and submit it to the government.
Earlier in the day, a five-member panel of doctors carried out an eye examination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail. According to sources, the medical check-up lasted nearly an hour. The team included Dr Rafaaq, Dr Sikandar, and Dr Arif among others.
Sources said the doctors began the examination after waiting approximately two and a half hours for PTI leadership representatives. However, no PTI leaders were present during the medical assessment.
Earlier, the jail superintendent confirmed that the doctors arrived with medical equipment and medicines, adding that a detailed report would be prepared soon.
Imran Khan, who claims he has lost 85% vision in his right eye due to a medical condition, was allowed access to doctors following directions from the Supreme Court.
His lawyer, Salman Safdar, visited him earlier this week and later submitted a report to the bench headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, raising concerns about his client’s health and requesting proper medical treatment.
Sources also revealed that an ambulance equipped with eye examination equipment was stationed inside the prison.
Jail officials confirmed that an initial medical report regarding the PTI founder’s treatment has been forwarded to the Punjab Home Department.
