ISLAMABAD: In a statement, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan clarified that there have been no direct or indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran.
Meanwhile, Ismail Baqai, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that various countries are offering to mediate between Iran and the US. Iran is responding to messages from different nations, and its position remains clear: it will continue to defend itself.
Baqai also mentioned that talks of negotiations during US and Israeli attacks are not credible. He added that Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is in contact with his Pakistani counterpart and other diplomatic officials.
It is noteworthy that earlier, a spokesperson for Iran’s senior joint military command dismissed reports of negotiations with the US, warning that the US should not call its defeat an agreement. He emphasized that US investments in the region are diminishing.
Following Iran’s military spokesperson, Pakistan-based Iranian Ambassador also denied any talks, whether direct or indirect, between the US and Iran.
In his statement, the ambassador expressed hope that friendly countries like Pakistan are working to establish communication between Tehran and Washington, and that these efforts will be successful.
He further stated that while friendly nations are in contact with the parties to end hostilities, according to his information, there have been no negotiations regarding a ceasefire between the US and Iran so far.
