US, Iran ceasefire; Ships resume passage through Strait of Hormuz

TEHRAN: In a significant development, a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran has led to the resumption of maritime activity in the Strait of Hormuz. Marine Traffic reports indicate that two ships, registered in Greece and Liberia, have successfully crossed the strait since the ceasefire took effect.

During a recent session in Budapest, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris highlighted the positive progress made in negotiations with Iran. She confirmed that both the U.S. and its allies have agreed to cease military actions against Iran, and Iran has consented to reopen the strategic waterway. President Donald Trump is said to be dedicated to pursuing diplomatic efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution.

Vice President Harris noted that reactions within Iran are mixed, with some factions welcoming the ceasefire while others are spreading misinformation. She also conveyed that President Trump has directed her and the American negotiation team to work earnestly towards reaching an agreement with Iran. Trump remains optimistic about making further headway in diplomatic talks.
