ISLAMABAD: Pakistani young traveler, vlogger, and mountaineer Asma Mushtaq has tragically passed away during her expedition. Born on February 7, 1992, Asma was well-known within the mountaineering community for her adventurous spirit and deep love for mountains and natural landscapes.
Recently, she was part of an expedition to conquer the 7,027-meter-high Spantik Peak in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan. According to reports, Asma successfully summited Spantik along with her guide, Ali Akbar, and at that time, her health was reported to be stable.
However, during the descent, she reportedly faced high-altitude sickness (HACE), a condition caused by the effects of high elevation. Despite receiving initial medical assistance from her guide, she was unable to recover and succumbed to the illness.
Arrangements are underway for the repatriation of Asma Mushtaq’s body, with the Karakoram Calling Tracks authorities coordinating with relevant officials to facilitate the process.
News of her passing has elicited deep sorrow and condolences across social media platforms. Users are remembering her love for mountains, beaches, and natural scenery, and have prayed for her soul’s forgiveness and elevated status in the hereafter.
