During a meeting of the party’s 20-member election board, chaired by President Abdul Aleem Khan, several names were approved to contest the polls. Among those nominated are Maulana Sultan Rais, Fatahullah Khan, Captain (r) Shafi Ullah Khan, Emaan Shah, and Raja Jalal Hussain. Tickets were also granted to Shams-ul-Haq Lone, Haji Shah Baig, Haji Gulbar Khan, and Khan Akbar Khan.
Party officials indicated that candidates for the remaining constituencies will be announced soon as consultations continue. Abdul Aleem Khan also informed participants that discussions are ongoing بشأن a possible alliance with Islamic Tehreek Pakistan for the elections.
He noted that the party’s overall electoral strategy would depend on the positioning and decisions of competing political forces. In addition, the board agreed to soon finalize nominees for nine reserved seats designated for women and technocrats.
Highlighting the party’s commitment, Aleem Khan said IPP is entering the Gilgit-Baltistan elections with full strength. He added that party lawmakers, senior leadership, and workers are scheduled to visit the region next week as part of their campaign efforts.
