G.BALTISTAN: As the Gilgit-Baltistan elections draw near, political activity in the region has surged, with major parties ramping up their campaign efforts ahead of the voting scheduled for June 7.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, accompanied by his sister Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, is set to visit Gilgit and Hunza today as part of the party’s election outreach. During this visit, Bilawal is expected to speak at a public rally in Hunza and meet with party candidates in Gilgit to energize supporters.
Meanwhile, leaders from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), including Federal Minister Amir Muqam and ex-minister Abid Sher Ali, are actively campaigning across the region, holding rallies at four different locations to garner voter backing.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is also heavily engaged in its campaign activities. PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan is currently involved in political rallies and supporter meetings in Skardu and other districts.
With all major parties intensifying their efforts, the electoral atmosphere has become highly competitive, reflecting the high stakes of the upcoming elections. Voters will head to the polls on June 7 to decide the composition of the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly, with parties making their final pushes to secure key constituencies.
