ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday for a state visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He will be accompanied by a senior delegation comprising cabinet ministers and other high-ranking officials.
During his stay, President Pezeshkian will hold separate meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss matters of mutual interest.
He is also expected to meet Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The visit marks President Pezeshkian’s second trip to Pakistan since assuming office. Discussions between the two sides will cover a wide range of bilateral issues, including trade and investment, energy cooperation, border management, regional connectivity, and the promotion of people-to-people contacts.
Both countries will also exchange views on recent regional and global developments, as well as ongoing diplomatic efforts following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
The visit highlights the strong historical, cultural, and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Iran, while reaffirming their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and promoting peace, stability, and economic progress across the region.
