LAHORE: Station House Officer (SHO) Faryad Ashraf of Lahore’s Defence C Police Station has been removed from his position with immediate effect after a complaint was lodged by a judicial officer, police sources said.
According to the sources, the complaint was submitted by a judge at the Cantt Kutchery, who objected to being contacted by the SHO outside official working hours.
The sources said the call was related to the ongoing investigation into the alleged kidnapping of two foreign women. The judge reportedly took exception to the communication and subsequently filed a complaint with the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations.
Police officials said SHO Faryad Ashraf had made the call with the approval of a senior officer. However, authorities decided to remove him from the post to prevent any potential legal complications arising from the matter.
Further action, if any, will be determined in accordance with departmental procedures.
