GUJRANWALA: Police have registered a forgery case against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Qaiser Iqbal Sindhu, Farhat Shahzadi, commonly known as Farah Gogi, her husband Ahsan Jameel and several others in connection with alleged irregularities involving a housing society.
According to police, the case was registered at Sadar Police Station on the complaint of enforcement inspector Tayyabur Rehman. Authorities said legal proceedings have been initiated and an investigation is now underway.
The complaint alleges that Magnolia Housing Society unlawfully collected fees for building plans and made unauthorised changes to official government records. It further alleges that the activities were carried out with the support of MPA Qaiser Iqbal Sindhu.
Police have nominated Sindhu, Farhat Shahzadi, Ahsan Jameel and other individuals in the FIR. Officials said the allegations would be examined during the investigation and further action would be taken in accordance with the findings.
Earlier Dispute Over Faisalabad Industrial Plots
The latest case follows an earlier controversy involving Farah Gogi and two industrial plots in Faisalabad.
The board of the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) had cancelled plots 255 and 256, each measuring five acres, over alleged violations of development requirements.
The plots were reportedly purchased by Gogi in October 2021 in the name of Al-Moeez Dairies. The company said no construction had been carried out on either plot.
The cancellation was approved by the FIEDMC board under then-chairman Rana Azhar Waqar. He said at the time that development rules would be enforced against plot owners who failed to establish the required structures and that industrial land could not be retained without development.
The new Gujranwala case remains under investigation, with police saying the next course of legal action will depend on the evidence gathered during the probe.
