ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police have rolled out a new “Mechanic on Wheels” service to provide motorists with quick assistance in case of roadside vehicle breakdowns and other mechanical problems.
The service is accessible through the 1915 helpline, allowing stranded motorists to request help when facing issues such as flat tyres or sudden mechanical faults.
According to a police spokesperson, trained mechanics will be dispatched to the caller’s location to carry out necessary repairs on the spot. The initiative is aimed at reducing motorists’ waiting time and preventing them from being stranded in potentially unsafe roadside conditions.
Launched under the slogan “Where your car stops, help arrives,” the service is intended to make commuting across Islamabad safer and more convenient.
Police have urged motorists experiencing a breakdown to call 1915 for roadside assistance through the Mechanic on Wheels service.
