ISLAMABAD: In anticipation of the PTI long march, the federal authorities are evaluating the possibility of deploying Rangers personnel to enhance security in the capital city.
Sources reveal that the Interior Ministry has already drafted a summary for the deployment plan. Islamabad Police have officially requested the assistance of 3,000 Rangers officers to ensure safety during the march.
The Islamabad Chief Commissioner’s Office has submitted a formal request for Rangers’ deployment from September 20 to October 5, 2026. The move is part of a broader strategy to maintain order and security during the anticipated protests, according to sources familiar with the matter.
