LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has ordered the Punjab inspector general to trace Ali Hassan, who has reportedly been missing for two years, and produce him before the court.
Justice Farooq Haider issued the direction while hearing a petition filed by Usman Ali, who is seeking the recovery of his brother. The court also summoned Punjab Advocate General Barrister Zafarullah Khan and Gujranwala Regional Police Officer Khurram Shahzad to attend the next hearing, scheduled for October 27.
The advocate general had been asked to assist the court at the previous hearing but was absent. Sources said the court was told he was occupied at the Supreme Court.
Former Punjab police chief Dr Usman Anwar and current IG Abdul Karim have also appeared before the court in connection with the case.
