Karachi: A first tranche of 40 buses imported by federal government for the Green Line Rapid Bus service have reached Karachi today.
A ceremony will be held to off load the buses wherein Governor Imran Ismael, Federal Minister of planning and special initiative Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Federal Minister for maritime affairs Ali Zaidi will in attendance.
Surjani to Capri interchange work on Green line buses in Karachi has been completed while a distance of 28 kilometre from Surjani to capri interchange will be traveled.
The project delayed for five and half years as former premier Nawaz Sharif had ground breaking ceremony for the project back in February 2016.

Sources said that next tranche of 40 buses are expected to reach port city in the next one to two months. However, the decision of import of next tranche will be made after the performance of the buses of first tranche.
