IMF Insisting Govt To Slow Economy Owing To PTI’s Showing Growth Rate Of Six Percent: Miftah

Taking to media in Karachi before leaving for Doha for talks with IMF on Monday, the Minister said that the previous government showed growth rate of six percent on which the IMF is stressing the present government to slow the economy.

The Minister said that the Rs 20,000 billion loan is the highest in the history of the country adding that we are providing flour, ghee on cheap prices in the utility stores.

He asked that why did the ring road plan of Rawalpindi change? as many as 20 million people went under the poverty line while he asked who will respond on this.

He questioned that why there is load shedding while he said that it is all due to Imran Khan previous government.

Miftah Ismail revealed that ex-chief minister Usman Buzdar sold as many as 16 licenses of cement factory while he hurled accusation that some licenses were sold by Buzdar while some by others.

He said that Shahbaz Sharif as CM never sold any single license of cement factory. On the other hand, the PTI government has sold 16 licenses to cement factories.

The Fianance Minister claimed that Imran khan has allowed Farah Gogi for transfers and postings and she has also been instructed to take money for it adding that why Gogi is sitting in Dubai? he asked.

Miftah Ismail said that today the nation is paying price of wrong policies and agreements signed by previous government with international monetary organizations.

He said tough conditions of withdrawing subsidies and imposing tax on petroleum products is the result of agreements of previous government with IMF.

The Finance Minister said as per agreements of previous government, the diesel price is to be increased by 150 rupees per liter and petrol by 100 rupees per liter but the present government does not want to carry it forward as it will result in heavy financial burden on the masses.

He said Imran Khan has always created impediments in the path of development of the country.

He said Imran Khan’s 2014 sit-in caused postponement of Chinese president’s visit to the Pakistan and today IMF team that was due in Islamabad for talks has declined to visit because of Imran Khan’s sit-ins.

The Finance Minister expressed the hope that in next two days he will succeed in having agreement with IMF in the best interest of the country and the people
