KARACHI: Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has declined the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) offer to become vice-captaincy for the national side, on Saturday.
According to the sources, the selection committee had offered Shaheen to become the team’s vice-captain and skipper Babar Azam’s second in command, which the left-arm pacer refused to accept.
Babar Azam is the captain of Pakistan’s T20 team for the national team, but no vice-captain has been announced by PCB yet. The ICC T 20 World Cup is going to start in America and West Indies in next few days , the sources said that after Shaheen Shah Afridi’s refusal, wicketkeeper Muhammad Rizwan is a strong candidate for the vice-captain of the national team, while Shadab Khan is also there for the option of Pakistan cricket team
