Afghanistan turned Into a terror Hub: Ahmad Massoud slams Taliban over rising regional crisis

WEB DESK: Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, sharply criticized the Taliban during a ceremony marking the 31st anniversary of the killing of Abdul Ali Mazari, the former leader of the Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan.

Massoud accused the Taliban of sacrificing the Afghan people to support militant groups and turning Afghanistan into a hub for terrorism and geopolitical conflicts.

According to Massoud, the Taliban have provided safe havens to several militant organizations, including Al-Qaeda, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Jaish al-Adl, and Ansarullah. He argued that these policies have pushed Afghanistan into persistent security crises and regional tensions.

Massoud also referred to recent cross-border military tensions involving Pakistan, saying that such conflicts are a direct consequence of the Taliban’s reckless policies and their continued support for extremist groups.

“The main driver of the current crisis, as well as previous ones, has been the Taliban’s actions,” Massoud said. “By sheltering militant groups like TTP, Jaish al-Adl, Ansarullah, and Al-Qaeda, they have repeatedly drawn Afghanistan into security challenges and geopolitical rivalries.”

He stressed that the ongoing instability and conflict surrounding Afghanistan are the inevitable outcome of what he described as the Taliban’s “unwise decisions” and their willingness to host armed groups operating across the region.

Massoud warned that unless these policies change, Afghanistan will continue to be entangled in regional conflicts and power struggles.
