ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reiterated the government’s commitment to introducing technology-based reforms in the tax system to improve transparency and ease the burden on taxpayers.

The finance minister emphasized the need for greater automation, simplified procedures and institutional reforms to make the tax system more efficient and transparent. He said reducing unnecessary human involvement through digital solutions would help facilitate taxpayers and improve overall governance.
Aurangzeb also highlighted the activation of the Tax Policy Office under the Finance Division, describing it as a key step towards better policy formulation and stronger coordination between tax administration and policy-making bodies.
He said the government remained focused on building a modern, technology-driven tax structure capable of supporting sustainable economic growth.
