RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Asim Munir, reaffirmed the country’s commitment to completely eliminate terrorism originating from across borders, emphasizing that the nation will deploy its full strength to achieve this goal. The statement was released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
Speaking to newly graduated officers of the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University (NDU), which included participants from all branches of the military, the army chief underscored the importance of strategic clarity and professionalism in confronting modern threats.
Army Chief Commits to Dismantling Terrorist Safe Havens and Their Support Networks
In his address, the army chief discussed the changing nature of warfare, stressing the need for disciplined, well-prepared leadership capable of tackling hybrid, conventional, and unconventional threats with confidence and vision. He praised institutions like NDU for their vital role in shaping future military and civilian leaders equipped to handle complex security challenges.
Field Marshal Munir also highlighted that Pakistan’s armed forces are continuously adapting their operational and strategic approaches to meet evolving warfare dynamics. He emphasized that Pakistan remains vigilant against foreign-sponsored efforts by hostile intelligence agencies aimed at destabilizing the country.
He added that efforts by such external proxies and their networks, which operate under foreign guidance, are doomed to fail and will be thwarted to protect Pakistan’s internal stability and economic progress.
The military leader stated, “Victory in conflicts is not achieved through rhetoric or political slogans but through unity, discipline, and unwavering faith in our mission.” He expressed full confidence in the professionalism, morale, and readiness of Pakistan’s armed forces and urged the graduating officers to uphold principles of integrity, selfless service, and dedication to the nation’s security.
He concluded by emphasizing that Pakistan’s security challenges can only be overcome through collective resolve and unwavering commitment.
