ISLAMABAD: In the case of Customs officials at Multan Airport seizing a consignment of expensive mobile phones from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) staff, the airlines took swift disciplinary action and suspended all suspects involved.
Spokesperson for PIA apprised that the airline’s administration has promptly suspended all cabin crew members involved in the incident and issued show-cause notices. A thorough departmental inquiry has been launched to investigate the matter in detail.
The spokesperson emphasized that the airline will take the strictest possible action against those found guilty, stating, “If proven guilty, the harshest penalties will be imposed in accordance with company policy.” The spokesperson also reaffirmed PIA’s firm stance on its zero-tolerance policy towards any unethical or illegal conduct by its employees.
Furthermore, the airline has assured full cooperation with authorities to ensure complete accountability. “There will be no leniency for employees involved in any illegal activities,” the spokesperson concluded.
