Starvation turns grim in Gaza as 57 died, Israeli attacks in last 24 hours martyred 45

Gaza: Trucks carrying food, water and medicine are piling up at the borders of Gaza as the Strip’s Government Media Office says at least 57 Palestinians have starved to death under Israel’s total blockade whereas Israeli attacks across Gaza in last 24 hours have killed 45 Palestinians, including three babies, medical and civil defence sources say.

At least six Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s bombardment of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, medical sources tell Qatar based news channel.

A Palestinian woman and child have been injured by Israeli forces during a raid in Jericho in the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli army has carried out two bombings of residential buildings in the city of Rafah on Sunday.

Husam Zomlot, the State of Palestine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, has said that “mass starvation is Israel’s method of war” in the Gaza Strip.

“Still some politicians find ways to cover up for these crimes against humanity. Shame!” he wrote in a post on X.

International condemnation of Israel’s blockade has grown as UN officials and rights advocates demand unimpeded humanitarian access to the coastal territory.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 52,495 Palestinians and wounded 118,366, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The Gaza Government Media Office updated the death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.

An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 were taken captive.
