PESHAWAR: The police in Peshawar have registered an FIR concerning the alleged kidnapping of PTI activist Sanam Javed.
According to the FIR, which was filed by her female lawyer friend on Tuesday, Sanam Javed was reportedly stopped by five unidentified men on a busy street in Peshawar. The men forcibly pulled her into a vehicle and then took her away, raising serious concerns about safety and law enforcement in the city.
The FIR describes the incident as a major breach of law and order, emphasizing the need for an immediate investigation and the apprehension of those responsible for the alleged abduction.The complainant called for swift action to ensure justice.
In related developments, PTI’s Secretary for Information Sheikh Waqas Akram stated on Monday that Sanam Javed, a party leader, was forcibly taken from Peshawar. According to Waqas, the incident occurred on one of the city’s busy roads when two vehicles intercepted her car. He claimed that the unidentified individuals pulled her out of the vehicle in front of her companions, forced her into their own vehicles, and sped away.
Waqas condemned the act as an abduction and demanded her immediate release, asserting that such measures are part of a broader pattern of political repression targeting PTI leaders and workers.The incident has sparked widespread concern among PTI supporters and leadership on social media, with many questioning how such an event could occur under a PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Several called on Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to personally intervene, ensuring Sanam Javed’s safe return and bringing those responsible to justice.
