LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met with renowned British-Pakistani doctor Hasnat Khan, during which the Chief Minister congratulated him on assuming the position of Dean at the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology.
The meeting took place on Thursday and focused on the administrative affairs of the newly constructed Jinnah Institute of Cardiology. Maryam Nawaz reiterated her commitment to making the institute a top-tier healthcare facility.
The Chief Minister expressed her happiness that a son of Pakistan, Dr. Hasnat, has chosen to serve his fellow countrymen through the medical profession. She emphasized the efforts to provide the best heart treatment facilities not only across Punjab but throughout Pakistan. Her aim is to turn Punjab into a hub of medical tourism.
Dr. Hasnat, a renowned heart surgeon, was recently appointed as the head of Jinnah Cardiac Institute Lahore. He has extensive experience working in hospitals across the UK and Australia. Dr. Hasnat gained international fame due to his association with Lady Diana, who was known for her friendship with him.
Lady Diana had visited Lahore in 1996 and met with Dr. Hasnat’s mother. Dr. Hasnat’s maternal uncle, Dr. Javed Sajid, is also a prominent heart surgeon.
