Iranian lawmaker claims progress in talks with U.S.
Separately, Fada Hossein Maleki, a member of Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said that a large portion of Iran’s proposals had reportedly been accepted in recent negotiations with the United States.
He said substantial progress had been made in the talks, though he raised concerns about what he described as the unpredictability of U.S. President Donald Trump and his reliability in implementing commitments.
Reports of draft agreement and continued negotiations
Meanwhile, reports suggest that a draft agreement between Iran and the United States has been prepared, with the White House also indicating progress in discussions. However, the deal has not yet been formally approved, pending President Trump’s final decision.
According to media reports, Trump has shared the draft proposal with allied countries, including Israel. The proposed framework reportedly includes steps related to reopening the Strait of Hormuz and easing certain U.S. restrictions.
It is also reported that the plan may allow Iran access to around $12 billion in frozen overseas assets, while the Strait of Hormuz could return to normal operational conditions within 30 days if implemented.
Some reports further claim that China is pushing for the final agreement to receive formal endorsement from the United Nations.
