KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced that the study of Sanatan Dharma will now be a compulsory part of the curriculum for Hindu students enrolled in government primary schools from grades 3 to 5.
An official notification from the Sindh School Education Department has been distributed to all divisional primary education directors and district education officers to ensure smooth implementation of this policy.
As part of this initiative, the Sindh Textbook Board will publish Sanatan Dharma textbooks at no cost. The government will also distribute these books free of charge to Hindu students attending government schools.
This decision aims to provide Hindu students with an education aligned with their religious traditions and beliefs, integrated into the standard primary school syllabus.
The education authorities have been instructed to take the necessary steps to put this policy into practice effectively and ensure that the curriculum change is carried out seamlessly.
