ISLAMABAD: High Court has issued a summons for the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to appear on March 4 for contempt of court. This action stems from the Superintendent’s failure to facilitate a meeting between PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in defiance of a court order.
Acting chief justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar, issued a written order on a petition filed by Imran Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry.
The court mandating the superintendent to appear in person to clarify the reasons for not adhering to the court’s directives has highlighted a violation of the ruling issued on January 28.
The Islamabad High Court has directed the jail official to provide a response in person and has postponed the case until March 4.
