Chaudhry Shujaat reelected as PML-Q president

LAHORE: Former premier expresses gratitude to members for reelecting the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) president.

According the official communiqué, the intraparty polls of the PML-Q were held in the meeting of the Central General Council. All candidates were elected unopposed during the session of the party’s Central General Council.

The council meeting witnessed participation from members across all four provinces, the federal capital and Gilgit-Baltistan.

From Lahore, Senior Vice President Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Central Secretary General Tariq Hassan and Punjab General Secretary Chaudhry Shafay Hussain were announced as elected to their respective posts.

Through a resolution, the council appointed Dr Muhammad Amjad as the chief organizer and Ghulam Mustafa Malik as central secretary information.

Expressing his thoughts, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain expressed gratitude to the members for reelecting him as the party president.

He said, “The Qur’an is our manifesto. We must practise a politics of service and avoid hypocrisy and arrogance.”

Hussain stated, “The Muslim League created Pakistan, and it is this very party that will protect it.”

The meeting passed resolutions condemning the ongoing atrocities against Muslims in occupied Kashmir and Palestine.

Furthermore, the council denounced terrorism within the country and paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces, Rangers and Police for their sacrifices.
